Updated PatchFinder Adds Two New Features

Search for New Security Fixes and Objects Delivered

PatchFinder has two new key features to assist customers in patch searching, reports Gerry Haskins on the blog Patch Corner. The additions are to the Security Filter, which now can identify new security fixes, and a method to search for patches by the objects they deliver. Haskins also alerts customers who use ‘wget’ to automate patch downloads from SunSolve that they need to login in once to SunSolve and accept the updated software license agreement before they can continue to use it.

Improving the Cluster Installation Experience

New Updates Released on Solaris 10 Recommended and Sun Alert Patch Clusters

The Solaris 10 Recommended and Sun Alert patch clusters located on the SunSolve page have had some improvements made so that installation of the clusters are easier and more efficient. Modifications range from a new installcluster script with support for interims boots to the notification when zones have to be halted, to several other changes. Recently released, these updates are available in the current clusters for contract customers from the Patch Cluster & Patch Bundle Downloads on SunSolve. Sun Identity Manager Supports MySQL as Production Repository

Sun has issued a patch for Sun Identity Manager giving MySQL 5.0.60SP1 support as a repository in production.  The user provisioning software already had supported MySQL in development.

Sun Identity Manager 8.0 Patch 4 also offers several bug fixes and updates. It is available from SunSolve.

“With this, the TCO offered by the Sun Identity Manager + MySQL combination will be very compelling and competitive,” offers Sun Engineer Mani Chandrasekaran.
