This release is the successor to Cool Stack 1.3.1 and is a collection of some of the most widely used open source applications optimized for Solaris and Linux platforms.

Download is available free from the Sun Web site.

Keep in mind that the Sun Web Stack is fully integrated in OpenSolaris 2008.11 and does not need to be downloaded separately. Packages are provided in the SVR4 and RPM package formats for selective installation. Although Sun Web Stack ships with Solaris 10, users may find newer, fully optimized versions lie within this latest release.  It has been pre-configured to have popular applications like Apache, PHP, and MySQL work seamlessly out of the box.
