Sun’s Open Source Solutions Forge Ahead in SOA’s Readers’ Choice Awards
Voting is underway for the SOA Readers’ Choice Awards with readers able to cast their votes in 19 categories through December 31st. The online magazine is hosting live voting statistics and many Sun-related technologies are faring quite well, including GlassFish, OpenESB, NetBeans, Metro, Sun Java System Portal, OpenSSO, Java CAPS, and JAXP.
Sun UltraSPARC T2 Reference Design Kit Released
Sun’s UltraSPARC T2 Reference Design Kit (RDK) released this week gives system designers the essential tools necessary to design, test, and verify designs based on this CMT technology. The kit comes with CMT development tools, complete board level design database, Solaris 10 and Linux boot options, and more. Also included is an eATX form-factor motherboard with a host of interconnect options and an eight-core, 1.2 GHz UltraSPARC T2 processor.
Sun Ranks Third in Tech Companies Serious About Climate Change Strategies
A recent report analyzing climate change governance practices at 63 of the world’s largest companies finds Sun has more than just talked about eco-responsibility, but has taken strong action. The company placed third in the technology sector and scored 25 points higher than the overall median score covering 11 industry sectors.
