SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence Accelerator on Sun
SAP NetWeaver BI Accelerator is an appliance-like solution designed to leverage the hardware design of Intel Xeon processors, and Sun offers this solution on the Sun Blade 6000 family with the Intel Xeon processor-based server modules, Sun StorageTek 6140 arrays, a shared file system and Fibre Channel (FC) and networking switches.
Co-developed by SAP and Intel, the SAP NetWeaver BI Accelerator offers customers many benefits, a few of which are:
- performance improvements and query flexibility with the price/performance of Intel platforms
- reduced IT support time with on-the-fly data aggregation
- eliminates the need for query tuning
“The SAP NetWeaver BI Accelerator combines high-performance software from SAP NetWeaver with Intel processors to provide a Web search engine-like capability for structured data — delivering a 10 to 100 times average speed increase for query performance and as much as 80 percent faster load times,” writes Philippe Julio in Sun’s Business Intelligence.
