InfoWorld’s 2008 Technology of the Year Awards Honor Three Sun Products
InfoWorld’s Test Center staff selected three Sun products as top technologies to impact IT in 2008 by awarding them each a Technology of the Year award. They are:
- the Solaris 10 OS as the most innovative server OS,
- Sun Fire X4500 Server as the best storage server, and
- ZFS as the best file system.
A total of 45 products from across eight general categories were honored.
The annual award nominees are selected by InfoWorld Test Center editors and reviewers, who identify the best and most innovative products from all of the ones tested during the past year. All products reviewed by the Test Center are eligible to win. The final winning selections are ultimately made by InfoWorld’s Test Center staff.
“InfoWorld tests upwards of 200 IT products every year, and we see many, many good ones,” said Doug Dineley, InfoWorld’s Test Center executive editor. “Our Technology of the Year award winners represent not only the cream of the crop, but the best products in the most important product categories.”
