The Ultra-Fast Data Warehouse Powered by Sun and ParAccel
During the recent TDWI (The Data Warehousing Institute) World Conference in Orlando, Fla., ParAccel announced it is working with Sun to deliver data warehousing solutions for Sun’s server platforms under the Ultra-Fast Data Warehouse Powered by Sun and ParAccel.
It is offered in two configurations:
- Sedona: a storage-based solution
- Phoenix: a memory-based solution
Both combine the small footprint, scalability and power
efficiency of the Sun Fire X4100, Sun Fire X4500 or Sun Blade 6000 Modular Systems and maximize ParAccel’s columnar orientation and adaptive data compression techniques.
“The Ultra-Fast Data Warehouse powered by Sun and ParAccel analyzes terabytes of information at record breaking speeds and has established performance records on cost effective, energy efficient Sun platforms,” commented Lisa Sieker, VP of Systems Marketing at
Sun.
Audited benchmark results demonstrate the Sun-ParAccel solution is the world’s fastest at numerous data sizes and most cost-effective, said ParAccel President and CEO David Ehrlich, who also mentioned an upcoming ParAccel release on the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS) is expected to break records as well.
“Our combined innovation power,” Ehrlich said, “is providing customers with a much needed breakthrough in analytic query performance.”
